Tutoring is the next bastion of education. One-on-one tutoring will be where the money is moving into the 2030s.
There are a lot of fed-up teachers who do not believe in the system. Bad children now have a louder voice than good kids.
The parents of bad children can do whatever they want against teachers. Why would anyone want to deal with this for low pay?
I see a lot of these bad kids inside the Marine Corps. You can tell that the school system catered to them while pushing them through the ranks.

How are all these burned-out teachers going to make money? Tutoring is the answer they seek. It’s also the answer we parents seek as well.
Starting your tutoring business. The most important part of your tutoring program will be releasing a steady stream of FREE content.
That’s right; we are starting a content-first business. Good books to read on this strategy are “Content, Inc.” and “You are the Brand.”
I wrote an article yesterday called “Advertising vs. Content Marketing” that explains the value of adding a boatload of content to the internet.
What type of content should I create? Whatever subject you are good at, make as much content as humanly possible. Then create more.
Pay for College with Real Estate 101
You also want to be as specific as possible. Drill down to the nitty-gritty of the topic—this is where you’ll make your money.
Having a 15-year-old and 11-year-old, I can say that math, English, and reading comprehension are the major topics where kids struggle.
If you are a math expert, drill down into division. Explain YOUR system of teaching kids how to divide. Remember, you no longer belong to the school system; therefore, you can build your unique program.
Blogging and YouTube. Yes, recording video will be a massive boon to a tutoring business; however, a blog is just as valuable. Using blogging and YouTube is vital to this system.
Create an eBook Series for Passive Income
The words on your blog give you long-term credibility and authority. YouTube is more of a popularity contest.
As you create blog posts, add links to your YouTube videos. You’ll drive your own traffic to your YouTube and won’t rely on YouTube algorithms.
Making money online. Getting revenue from blogging and YouTube streaming into your accounts will take some time. But, you are building an extensive portfolio of media assets you can exploit.
A great way to double, triple, or quadruple your income is by releasing online courses. Let’s say you released a detailed blog post and video on a 5th-grade division problem every day.

Over a month, you would have a massive library covering Fifth-grade division. You can bundle all this content into an online course and sell it for $10.
As a parent who went through the educational struggles with my kids, I would have happily paid for a program like this. It’s affordable and personal, and I can follow the program anywhere I want.
More importantly, I will need the 6th-grade program next year! Always think of the long-term value of a customer.
Printables. To add additional revenue to your tutoring system, you can add printables to your menu. The printables can follow along with the online courses.
Passive Income Hero by Night
You sell the printables directly on your website for maximum profit. Plus, you’ll want to release them on Etsy because their algorithm will drive more customers to your products.
One-on-one tutoring. Hey, you can actually tutor kids as well. Remember, you’ll want to get all the online stuff in motion first.
You may have to stay at your teaching gig longer until the online stuff takes hold. That’s what I am doing now—growing my online presence while I have a job.
The Magic of a Military Pension
When people start to find you online, they’ll eventually want to hire you for one-on-one tutoring, similar to coaching and consulting.
Be upfront that it will be expensive, say $100/hour (or more). Your time costs money, and you’ll have opportunity costs because you could be creating evergreen content instead of tutoring. Your time is valuable!
You can offer a discount, to say $60/hour, if they allow you to record and post the video online. You don’t have to show the kids’ faces, only use the audio.
Now, you are receiving payment up front, and the video will produce income for years to come. You can also have the kids follow along with your printables, creating a nice feedback loop.

Conclusion. I get very excited about helping people learn—that’s why I have written about finances daily for the last two years. I am creating a never-ending content stream so anyone can beat the finance game.
You can do the same as a tutor. You can create a new reading comprehension problem every day. Build a system of how to extract vital information and disregard unimportant fluff. I know my kids struggle with this aspect of reading.

If you make it fun, kids will make a habit of waking up and doing your latest problem. Learning can be fun, and you can be a part of the solution—at a profit.
Yes, entrepreneurship aims to solve a problem at a profit. There is no shame in saying you want to be rich by doing what you love.
Entrepreneurs get paid for serving people and adding value. The more people you serve, the more wealth you accumulate. Teachers and educators deserve to make similar money to doctors and lawyers—you’ll just have to find a different route. Good Luck!
