What Type of Home Business Should You Start 2: Outside

Who wouldn’t want to work outdoors in the beautiful sunshine and fresh air? Even better, working from home and being your own boss—now that sounds like a dream come true. It’s time to make this dream reality by starting a home-based outside business.

Benefits of an outside business. In a world of online resources and people living the laptop life, why on Earth would anyone want to start an outdoor business? First, being outdoors is good for the soul. It’s not natural to sit inside all day and look at a computer monitor.

Second, you get to connect with people and build strong relationships. It may sound trivial to some, but humans function best when they interact in tribes. Lastly, you gain a sense of purpose when you serve others. You can help others solve their issues or problems at a profit—that is an entrepreneur’s mission.

Tips for starting an outside business. An outside company can be as big or small as you desire; however, you must create content for any business. The book “Content Inc.” talks about creating content long before launching your product or starting your business. Here is how this process would look.

Let’s say you want to start a dog-walking business. With a content-first approach, you would launch a YouTube channel showing how you walk dogs, interact with them, and gain their loyalty. You would do this until you had a good following, a website, and an email list. Then, probably after a couple of years, you would launch your outside dog-walking business.

I know, I know, this sounds like a long process. Guess what? It is an extremely long process. Most businesses fail, so starting with a substantial audience is a great way to hedge your success. I am currently growing my audience, and I can tell you from experience that it can work with consistent production.

I wholeheartedly believe that the content-first approach is the best way to start any business in today’s world. You will need to establish yourself as a subject matter expert before getting any meaningful interaction. Plus, creating content is a powerful way to learn about yourself. But, I’ll save all that for the article on creating content.

The 8-Hour Mindset Destroys Wealth

What kind of outside jobs are there? There are more outside jobs than you can imagine, and they are all at your fingertips. Luckily, I have been writing about various jobs for the last year so that I can point you in the right direction.

The main idea is to love what you are doing—hell, you are creating your business. Create something that you love to do every single day, and you’ll never work a day in your life. I absolutely love writing and creating books, and earning some cash is the icing on the top.

Your business will be your baby for a long time, so take your time and give it your total effort. You’ll have to work harder than you could ever imagine to make your business successful, but that’s the point of life, right? Let’s take a look at some ideas in the outside space.

The gardening and farming niche. This is one of my favorite niches because you will be surrounded by Earth the entire day. You can learn so much about organic and sustainable farming and gardening. You can even harvest beneficial insects to help you around your garden. Here are some of the articles I have written over the past year in this niche.

  1. Sustainable Riches. Return to Earth. Make Green.
  2. Start a Community Garden and U-Pick-It Farm
  3. Harvest Beneficial Insects for Passive Income
  4. Run a Profitable Herb Garden

The vehicle niche. I like the vehicle niche because it is becoming more and more passive every day. If you can set up your business with the goal of becoming passive, you can automate the entire process of someone picking up and dropping off your rental vehicles. There is a lot of money in the vehicle rental business, but you will have to bring something unique to the table.

  1. How to Profit from Electric Vehicles
  2. Want a Tesla? Start a Rental Car Business
  3. Run a Luxury Vehicle Business

The coin-op niche. Owning various coin-operated machines (ATM, vending, and arcade machines) around town can be a boon for your passive income. However, the problem is that you will have to work with owners to install your devices, and they will take a cut of your profits. In my article, I talk about how to solve this issue.

  1. Start a Small Coin-Op Machine Business

The real estate niche. The best way to grow your wealth is in the real estate game. I write about real estate every fifth day, so I have a ton of information about buying and renting homes. However, for a business, we want to make passive income from real estate. We can do this in various ways; we just have to go into the situation with passivity top of mind.

  1. Run a Property Management Business
  2. Run a Passive Airbnb Business

Use your creativity. Not every business has to be a huge affair—sometimes making $300/month can be all you need to add to your passive income portfolio. With that in mind, you can do things like sell bamboo, start doing nails, create storage space, or even rent out parking space on your land.

If you can dream it up, you can achieve your goals. But, I like always to say, “Become an Entrepreneur BEFORE Starting a Business.” Invest some time before starting your business to learn how companies make money. Entrepreneurs only get paid if they add value to someone else.

Create a Never-Ending Stream of Content 2

Don’t think that everyone is going to flock to your business just because of you. Nobody owes you anything, least of all random customers. People will need to know, like, and trust you before you can earn a substantial income.

Conclusion. I know that online business is the wave of the future, but the market in the outside world is just as vibrant. If you can create a unique business proposition, you are well on your way to creating a successful business.

Understand that customer service is vital to an outside business. You need to be personable and have charisma. If those are things you don’t have, read a book, and learn how to build them.
