Every Day You Create is Great

Every Day You Create is Great

Our brains crave creation—so why do we avoid it at all costs? Somewhere along the lines, our tagline went from “be want you want” to “make as much money as possible.”

This shift in dynamic is understandable because we have become a country of individuals. When we worked as a team, having an artist, painter, lawyer, and electrician in the family was much more manageable.

Since we now operate independently, we all need to make a lot of money. Therefore, our lives went from colorful canvases to black-and-white buildings.

The ReBirth of the Renaissance Person

We must create. Although we had to get day jobs to feed and house ourselves, we still must create.

We see the world in one dimension if we don’t create—only seeing things as they are on the surface level.

When we create, we must interpret things as they come. This allows us to ask “why” and “how.”

If I am a painter, I may notice a particular shade of orange as I am stuck in traffic during a detour. As a writer, I may contemplate my next article during this same detour.

Creation is a mixture of critical thinking, performing arts, business, and self-expression. It’s not enough to just create whatever we want; it must serve a purpose in this world, which brings me to my next point.

Do you need to release your creations into the world? Yes. I understand that most people have a seething fear of interfacing with the public.

Let’s explore why most of us fear coming forward and releasing our creative works. It starts in school when our teachers know best.

When you need to teach kids en masse, you need them to conform. Instead of guiding kids as individual artists, we need them to become just like the teacher.

The 4% Rule vs. Dividends

The automobile industry designed classrooms to educate assembly line workers, which is how we still live our lives today.

There is hope. You can break past your fear of public speaking and judgment by simply saying one statement: nobody cares.

Absolutely nobody cares. Only three percent of the population are creators, and there is still more content than anyone can consume—so what’s one more YouTube video?

It took me almost six months to get one person to click on my blog from Google Search. Six months.

While you wait for people to find you, you have time to hone your craft. Yes, you must release your work because that’s where you find its meaning.

An example of creation. We can all wake up and make blueberry pancakes every day. Chances are they would largely remain the same for 30-40 years.

What if we gave our pancakes to a new person every day? Would the feedback slowly change our recipe?

We all want to live in a controlled environment—it gives us the feeling of safety and security. Releasing your work into the world is definitely an uncontrolled environment—the wild, wild west, if you will.

However, you will learn more about yourself in an uncontrolled environment. You must put more of “yourself” into your creations to attract people to your work.

People worry about ChatGPT taking over the writing space. However, anyone who writes can quickly tell an AI-written article because it lacks personality.

The Bear Market is Your Friend

My journey to creation. I was a government drone for over 20 years. I feared becoming a creator because I never expressed that side of myself.

However, once I learned about passive income, I became passionate about getting the word to everyone.

When you release your work to the public, you learn what interests them. You become more than just a person with a voice; you become the voice of the people.

Bond Buying is Back, Baby!

I love dividends and investing for income. If it were up to me, that’s what I would write about every day. However, my top-selling book on Amazon is about CD Ladders (certificates of deposit).

As much as I love the stock market, most people are still in the CD phase of their lives. So the question becomes, “How can I help them move past CDs to dividend-paying stocks?”

The art of creation. And that’s the rub about creation; it becomes an art. My mission is to turn a standard American into a sophisticated investor.

I can do this by writing series like Middle-Class Investing 101, and Inflation Ate My Paycheck 101. Every day I wake up to try and help others solve their financial woes.

I create for them, but I create for myself as well. To create better content, I must become a better content creator.

This means I must continue to read books, keep up with the news, and try new strategies. I must then filter this new information into bits that my small audience can consume.

For example, I read a book on “Credit Spread Options” the other day. My audience is not ready for these fantastic strategies in the options market.

However, over the next few years, I can introduce various topics relating to options, stock market investing, and hedging one’s bets.

Live Your Best Life with Dividends

The need for speed. We live in a fast-paced world. Instead of creating, we fill our time with tasks that keep us busy—the business of being busy.

We do this because work does not fulfill our soul. Powerpoints, emails, and meetings are not what our brains crave.

So, we keep ourselves on the go. If we have kids, we keep them on the go, ensuring they never get a chance to create either.

Saving for a House Down Payment #6: Family, Big City

We must cut out a chunk of time for creation. We must think critically about how the world interacts with us and how we interact with the world.

Conclusion. What impact do you want to make on this Earth? More importantly, what effect do you want to leave on your children?

If you create a body of work, it will live on through the generations. Artists and creators see the world through a different lens.

Homeschooling vs. Real Estate Prices

We can still keep our day jobs but donate a small portion of our time to creation. Creation is the best therapy for the things that hinder us.

Give creation a try. Make it a point to write a sentence about the sky every day. I promise you that in a year, you will have fresh ideas on how to make your sentences better or more engaging.

I call this the law of compounding creativity, but it only takes hold once we commit to creating daily. I am living my dream life because I shifted my mindset from a corporate drone to a creative personality. Good Luck!
