The Most Challenging Part of Passive Income: Enjoying it

They teach you to work. They teach you to struggle. However, they don’t teach you to enjoy life. Once you get your relationships and finances on track, your worldview changes.

The average person believes that you go to work and spend your paycheck. Because work makes you sad, you spend even more than you need—shopping is a coping mechanism.

What is discretionary income? Over the years, you learn how budgeting works. You take your income and subtract your expenses. What is left is your discretionary income

52 Weeks of the Dividend Challenge

However, this is not your actual discretionary income. Nobody will teach you about passive income, so it may take years to learn the truth.

I was 38 years old when I read about passive income. After understanding passive income, you can determine your real discretionary income.

How does passive income work? Passive income comes from assets. You can buy, build, or create assets that produce money outside of a W-2 job.

Some types of passive income are rents from a house, books, and dividends from stocks. Once you own the asset, it continues to earn money for you—even while you sleep.

Real Estate is a Mindset (Beginner)

It takes a while to convert your mindset and lifestyle to the idea of passive income. They trained us to work hard for money.

It is difficult to believe you can simply wake up and have more money than yesterday. We believe that exchanging time for money is working hard for money.

Living a passive income life. My wife and I are moving into a passive income life that runs on assets. My military retirement is enough to fund our lifestyle entirely.

On top of our military pension, we have passive income from rents, dividends, and royalties. We truly live a blessed lifestyle.

But, it takes time to adjust to the fact that we accomplished the hard part. The most challenging part of passive income is enjoying it.

They don’t teach us to be happy. Most parents, teachers, ministers, and counselors are in financial duress.

Therefore, they are not actually experiencing happiness, although they teach you about happiness. They may feel content, but they must still work for money.

Once you understand how to live below your means and retire on passive income, your entire mindset and belief system will change.

You will have enough time to accomplish everything you want. You can spend time with your kids, parents, family, and friends.

The Business of Being Busy

Everyone else will still be on the hamster wheel, but you can enjoy time around their hectic schedules.

Enjoying your freedom. So how do you learn to enjoy your freedom? It is a process to convert your brain from working for money to having your assets working for money.

My wife and I invested over $250,000 into dividend stocks over the last four years. We never have to insert another dime into our income-investing portfolios again.

However, our portfolio will continue to grow and feed us income. It’s difficult to understand that our money is now doing the work for us.

It’s the same for our three homes; they will appreciate in value, and rents will continue to rise. We don’t need to exchange time for money to get a pay raise from our properties.

My books and websites will also continue to grow and produce income. I love to write, so I will continue to make books, but there is no pressure.

Adding passive income to your life. Even if you work a job, you can experience the joy of passive income.

Imagine getting your paycheck but also receiving $1,100 extra from dividends. This is money that you can spend to your heart’s content.

But passive income is indeed about time. When you work, you exchange your valuable time for a few dollars.

When you are in debt, it is even worse. You are exchanging today’s time for yesterday’s fun. You must get out of debt immediately to see the world in its true form.

Passive income is a lifestyle that puts time ahead of money. It also focuses on spending time with yourself and your loved ones.

What is joy? Most people will simply never feel joy. Joy comes from interacting with others without a time limit.

Can you imagine sitting with a child for eight hours a day? You don’t have to be anywhere, and you don’t have any stress.

How about hanging out with your parents for a full day and not having to go to work the next day or the day after?

Did you ever want to visit France and spend a month learning about their history? Imagine not having to return to work or take phone calls as you travel.

Dreams take the work. The most crucial part of building passive income is envisioning your life beforehand.

You cannot endure the passive income grind without some form of dream or goal. Earning passive income is not easy, but it can be enjoyable if you see your future life.

I dreamed of having my family on the white sand beaches of Florida, and we have no care in the world. No one has to go to work or take phone calls.

Passive Income in DeFi 103: Staking

I had this vision four years ago, and my wife and I worked our tails off to achieve it. We dealt with tenants, paid off debt, invested in dividends, and wrote articles.

We did all this while going to work full-time. It was challenging but enjoyable. But now we can enjoy our time and passive income.

Conclusion. If you want to experience pure joy, it will cost you. You can’t just be average and think you will achieve greatness.

Passive income comes at the expense of education and hard work. To experience true happiness, you must endure many optional hardships.

Many people will choose to avoid hardships and live a standard middle-class struggle-mania lifestyle. However, to be truly free, you must take on additional responsibilities.
