5 Takeaways from “Podcasting for Beginners”

Podcasting for Beginners” by Brandon’s Business Guides walks us through the steps to starting a podcast and gaining traction.

Podcasts are one of my tiers of passive income from creativity. Podcasts are essential to everyday life because they allow listeners to continue to perform other tasks while listening.

Like all other forms of royalties, it takes time to build an audience of listeners and Superfans. If you are not going to stay for the long haul, there’s truly no point in starting.

1) Many ways to monetize your podcasts include uploading to YouTube, sponsorships, affiliate marketing, online courses, and your branded products.

2) Your mindset is crucial to starting and continuing a blog. Prepare to speak alone for 3-6 months as you gain traction.

3) Practice at least 20 times before releasing your first few episodes onto the airwaves. You will become much more comfortable after the first few streams.

4) You can use your walk-in closet to prevent the echo off windows and flooring. Carpeting works well; you can place pillows around your microphone to avoid echoes.

5) You don’t need an expensive setup to get started. You can spend $100 to $300 and have a high-quality podcast from the start.

There are many more tasks to accomplish after recording your podcast. You must edit, add intros and outros, and also metadata tags.

From there, you have to add your RSS feed or upload to a platform to push your content to Google, Apple, and Spotify.

Many podcasters aim to reach the “New & Noteworthy” section of Apple iTunes, but it can be challenging. You can pay for advertising and influencer marketing to speed things along.

I am on my own creative journey, but mine is through books, blogs, and writing. Ultimately, each path is similar yet unique. You can only find your way by getting on the trail.

This book gives solid, actionable data on how to start, grow, and succeed at podcasting. Good Luck!
