Don’t Gamble with Retirement 9

It’s always exciting when I add to the “Don’t Gamble with Retirement” series. It is one of my longest-running series, and I love documenting as the world changes.

I wrote the first article in a series in February 2021, when we were in a raging bull market. Today, the stock market is in the opposite position.

We are moving towards a recession, so a lot of advertising money on platforms like Facebook, Google, and YouTube has dried up. Times are changing.

Hundreds of articles. Every 100 or so articles, I write an article in the “Don’t Gamble with Retirement” series. So that would mean I have at least 900 pieces, right?

That’s right: I have over 1,100 articles on my blog (Military Family Investing) and am going strong. I can write so many articles because finance, lifestyle, and passive income are fluid.

To live a fantastic retirement, you’ll need to adjust continually to the new world around you. Market forces change constantly, so you must also stay up to date on the latest and greatest news.

Passive income for life. The goal of passive income is to let you live your best life. To create an income stream, you will need to be your best self.

You must consistently check in with your dividend portfolio and 401K. Your rental property will need constant refreshing and updating, while your business needs to stay fresh.

These may sound like chores, but they are the lifeblood of your retirement. As you stay in the various markets (crypto, housing, stock, bond, business), you’ll find random bits of great news.

Time in the market. The longer you stay in the market, the more good things happen to you. One of your stocks may pay a special dividend.

The rent on one of your properties may increase significantly. One of your YouTube videos may go viral, leading to an influx of subscribers.

To live these great moments, you must involve yourself in these markets. It may sound relaxing to retire and depend on social security, but don’t fall for this trap.

I would not depend on any government for a 30-40 year retirement. As we learned this year, inflation can come from anywhere and anytime.

The government will adjust interest rates to protect its currency. Your lifestyle is secondary to what they must do to keep the US Dollar strong.

Conclusion. Do you want to retire and come back to the workforce? If you don’t understand the various markets, you are gambling with retirement.

You create a Happy Cash Flow Retirement by building a portfolio of income-producing assets. Income protects you from the bad days and amplifies the good days. Therefore your mission is to generate income. Good Luck!
