Over-Employment: Can You Work Two Remote Jobs at Once?

Times are getting tough, and people are becoming desperate. I read an article on Business Insider explaining how people simultaneously hold two remote jobs.

I first thought they were working 8-12 hours a day with a job in the morning and night. However, I was wrong because they worked overlapping hours—what a disgrace.

However, we can take some things away from this situation. There are three ways to work two jobs at once: the bad path, the good choice, and the wealthy route. Let’s explore these three distinct options.

Stocks vs. Bonds: Is 60/40 Still Effective?

The Bad Path. The article shocked me. I never would think that people would stoop so low as to work two jobs in the same timeframe.

This means that these errant workers held two 9-5 jobs simultaneously. Their managers discovered this purely because of underperformance at one of their jobs.

Do not follow the path of this stupidity. Money is an exchange of value and carries a karma factor. What you put out into the world, you also receive.

If you try to cheat the system, someone will cheat you. It’s a sad reality of the world today where people think they can achieve incredible wealth this way.

How to Retire in California

We wonder why bosses and companies want us to return to physical work locations and not work remotely. Stories like this are becoming more prevalent and will ensure we all return to our daily commutes.

Please be good stewards of the luxury of remote work. Your company doesn’t owe you anything. If you have a sense of entitlement toward your company, you can stop this today.

They hired you to do a job, so do it. You can quit quietly but uphold your end of the bargain.

Personal responsibility and accountability are traits you pass on to future generations—so you should practice them daily.

The Passive Income Grind 2: Relax

The Good Choice. Now, holding two remote jobs at once can be good if you follow the rules. Basically, you ensure you do not overlap the hours.

If you work a 9-5 job, then you can work another job from 6-10 pm. This is the ultimate grind, so I wouldn’t recommend working like this for too long.

It is good that you do not have to commute between two jobs. Also, your secondary job can be a freelancing or consulting gig.

This is a perfect time to increase your credibility on sites like Upwork and Fiverr. The more outstanding jobs you complete, the higher your ranking.

What Type of Home Business 2: Outside

The higher your ranking, the more money you can seek per job. You can hit the sweet spot between exchanging time for money and how much income you generate.

The main takeaway from the “good choice” is to take care of yourself and your health. Sitting at a computer for 5-8 hours is horrible, but 10-12 hours is ridiculous. Be careful.

The Wealthy Route. Do you want to become rich? I’m sure the employees who took the “bad path” thought they would find great wealth.

The path to true wealth lies in adding value to others. The more people your products affect, the wealthier you can become.

Therefore, if you can reach people via the internet, 24 hours a day, you have the opportunity to achieve great riches.

That’s right; the wealthy route entails starting an online business in your free time. Why work for someone else, or limit yourself to freelancing, when you can be the star of your own show?

Online business is challenging. It is difficult to make even one dollar online. If you think you will write one blog post and people will care, sorry, someone misguided you.

It takes 10,000 hours to achieve master status at any one thing. Thus, it takes 3-5 years to make serious money online.

Fundrise vs. REIT stocks

This initial time barrier prevents most people (97%) from starting an online business or any business. If you are serious about making a side income, an online business is the best way to achieve long-term wealth.

What types of online businesses are there? Are you new to the world of online business? There are many options out there, each with its advantages and disadvantages.

Before you choose a business, consider what results you seek. What freedoms or constraints are you looking to add or avoid?

Some decisions revolve around time, income, complexity, and notoriety. You can adjust these to your liking to find what you truly want to pursue.

How Would You Spend $5,000?

For example, the best online option for freedom of time is blogging. However, the income takes much longer to accumulate.

You can set up an Etsy shop that sells printable pdfs like wedding invite templates, blank writing scripts, or daily planners. However, the market is saturated, and you’ll have to create a wholly new product to stand out (then someone will copy it).

You can also create content online. Some forms of content are content blogs, podcasts, and YouTube videos. These all can be lucrative after 3-5 years of grinding as hard as possible.

Effective use of time. The best part of building your own business is that you control your time. You could dedicate five hours a day to your online business in a perfect world.

Can You Achieve an Infinite Return?

But that is only the case in some situations. However, whatever you build continues to grow and compound. For example, if you write two blog posts a week, you’ll have 104 posts by the end of the year.

Making money online is about consistency and slowly improving your speed and skill set. It took me a year to learn how to make a paperback book. Now, I can do it in 15 minutes.

Conclusion. Please do not take the “bad path.” There is a narrative that you should cheat your employer because they are cheating you.

If you keep this victim mindset, you won’t achieve much in life. “The Four Stages of Building Wealth” teaches you to ask four questions about your current situation.

If you do not like where you are in life, determine why you are there and what options you have to improve your results. None of these have to do with your job, boss, or employer.

If you hate working for someone else, there’s never been a better time to launch a startup business. If you hate waking up early, start a late-night YouTube channel.

I hate watching all of these false narratives on media sites. You will have to work hard and sacrifice to achieve anything in life—there is no other way.

If someone tells you there is a shortcut, please disregard it. Reading books is the best way to speed up the process of accumulating great wealth. Good Luck!
