Now, let’s get to work. Starting a business is vital to our long-term health, wealth, and success. We can build a business with sweat equity or use other resources (money) to gain traction. 

Over the last six months, I talked about various types of businesses such as content creation, consulting, and e*commerce. You can choose whatever fits your lifestyle best, as there are many options in today’s world.

BUSINESS STRATEGIES

When you start a business, automation should be your long-term plan. One element of automation is hiring management. Don’t be afraid to delegate your tasks along the way. Teaching others to replace you is a strength in the entrepreneurial space. 

Getting free traffic to your website, product page, or creative works is tough. Using search engine optimization (SEO) is a must to acquire viewers from search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo.

If you have the drive and determination to succeed in this world (most people don’t), you may decide to coach others. Starting a coaching business can help inspire others and keep your motivation high. 

If you have become a subject matter expert in your profession and enjoy the work, you should consider starting a consulting business. Consulting is a great way to transition from the workforce to becoming an entrepreneur. However, ensure you look into adding passive resources to your business.

Becoming a personal trainer is a red-hot career field. Many people value their fitness and are willing to pay top dollar to have a trainer. Starting a fitness business could set you up to make other passive income streams as well. 

Running an e*commerce site isn’t for everyone. It requires shipping, packaging, handling, storage, etc. However, there is a digital version of a passive e*commerce business. You can review products, books, and games and drive traffic to your affiliate links. It is less manual work and more digital. However, the commissions can be much lower.

Your e*commerce site doesn’t have to take all of your time. You can automate your e*commerce site by using places like Fulfilled By Amazon. They will ship your items and deal with other aspects of our business—for a fee, of course. 

Have you ever wanted to earn passive income from an ATM or vending machine? Me too. The most challenging part of this business is finding a place to set up your devices. What if you created a site and installed your own machines?

Businesses will slowly transition to the metaverse. How will doing business in the metaverse change our lives? Nobody knows yet; however, it’s best to involve yourself in the process today. 

Do you want to build wealth slowly? Yes, me too. However, this doesn’t mean we can’t accelerate some portions of our wealth generation. Using an automated business to get rich is a great way to accumulate wealth and deposit it into our dividend portfolios. 

CONTENT CREATION

Building an income stream is difficult as it takes 10,000 hours to become good at something. So, your income stream probably won’t see the maximum results until you have put in the time to become a subject matter expert. 

I have a tricky question for you. Would you prefer your child spend four years at college or four years building an audience as a content creator? The answer says a lot about you and your child. It’s not a right or wrong answer. 

I have written more articles than I can imagine. Yet, here I am writing some more. I always seem to have a never-ending stream of content. How do I always have something fresh to create? 

Once you create an income stream, now it’s time to share how you accomplished this feat. Creating an online course can be one of the most lucrative types of passive income around. 

Every day I wake up, write, create, produce, and publish. I hope to continue it for the next 20-30 years. I love expanding my brain and pushing myself to new heights. Is creating content daily something for you as well?

I achieved $100 in book royalties for the first time a few months ago. I look at how long it took to accomplish this feat with royalties versus dividends. The results may surprise you. 

Content is still king. If you want to gain significant traffic to your content, you need to create as much content as possible. More content equals more cash flow. Once you become famous, your back catalog will accelerate you to greatness. 

If you are a designer or have custom documents for your profession, there are plenty of places online where you can sell your creative works. This includes custom t-shirts, documents, and photographs. 

If you want to become rich, you have to produce content. Yes, you can build a business, but building an audience may be more lucrative in the long run. The magic of being a content creator is that you are the product, and creating content is inexpensive compared to bringing a product to market. Plus, you can learn creativity & design by releasing your own creative works.

I read a lot of books. Last I checked, it was 98 books in less than two years. I finally subscribed to Kindle Unlimited to assist with my reading career. There is no better feeling than finding a book in the KU program. It’s like free money. 

WRITING & ROYALTIES

There are many ways to earn royalties. I like to focus on writing because I am a writer. To achieve my writing goals, I write 1000+ words every day. With this work ethic, I have finished two of the most oversized books ever (The Biggest Book on Passive Income Ever! And The Biggest Book on Passive Income Ever 2!)

The standard advice is to run Facebook ads to drive traffic when you start any business. However, it takes a lot of work to build a successful ad campaign. Here is my experience with Facebook Ads. I didn’t take the time to learn the system, so it didn’t go well. 

Fall brings cool weather and autumn leaves to our lives. It is a great time to relax and enjoy the breeze. There is nothing better than drinking pumpkin spice lattes while your royalties collect passively in the background—what a wonderful life. 

I work a full-time job and also write full-time. Sometimes, it is tough to be a Balanced Writer, but it is worth the effort. It may take me five more years to make a lot of money from writing, but at least I’ll be doing what I love. 

I am my own writer, editor, designer, publisher, and marketer. This may sound like a lot, but this allows me to release an amazing amount of content for free!

Why not write product reviews for passive income if you love reviewing products? You can focus on niche products that no one else covers. There is a massive market for small, under-served items. 

WHAT TYPE OF HOME BUSINESS?

What type of home business should you start? There are many types, but I group them into four categories; outside, online, content creation, and consulting. Understanding the different types will assist you in building the one that best suits your personality, time, and income requirements. 

PASSIVE INCOME FROM CREATIVITY

As I mentioned earlier, there are many ways to earn royalties. I take a deep dive into the various types of content creation in this series. Here are the six varieties I see most often; music, photography, art & design, video, audio & speech, and writing. 

There may be more types, but these will be an excellent start to your content creation career. And yes, you can mix and match these to great effect.

Do you want to be a writer? Do you want a publishing deal or to publish independently? “Successful Self-Publishing” gives us excellent guidance on going the self-publishing route. 

“The 10% Entrepreneur” is about building a business or angel investing on the side of your full-time job. This method gives us the stability of a job and the upside potential of a business. 

I love writing short books, so “The Magic of Short books” was a terrific (quick) read for me. There is something great about condensing your text down to 50-75 pages. 

If you are a writer, you understand how much pressure we put on ourselves. “The Relaxed Author” knows when to work feverishly and when to chill out. It is a skill we have to learn over time. 

Are you thinking of being a life coach? “Who The F*** Am I to be a Coach” offers a great deal of insight into what it takes to bring energy to your clients. Coaches have to get enough inspiration for themselves and their clients. 

As an influencer, “You are the Brand.” This means that whatever you do or say, build towards your company and branding. This can be positive or negative, depending on what you are doing and saying.
