Pick A Content Niche: Wealth, Health, and Relationships

If you have read any of my work before, you have probably heard me say how important it is to become a content creator. “Creativity is the only resource that automation can’t replace.” Our standard W-2 employment is going to dwindle slowly. To get ahead of the curve, we will need to learn about content creation and the business that drives it.

Before we can create content and start a business, we will have to decide what content to make. That is what I want to discuss today. I would like to throw around some ideas surrounding the three most popular niches out there- wealth, health, and relationships.

Under each of these umbrellas, there is room for diversity. Honestly, I recommend it. However, I recommend whatever niche you go into ties back into one of the three major topics. Let’s look at an example.

20 Books that Will Make You Rich

First, we can take a look at woodworking. Yes, you can make a channel just based on woodworking projects. To be honest, it will do very well. However, you can do the same content and feature 1) how woodworking is excellent for reducing stress and calming nerves, 2) how to start a home business based around woodworking, and 3) how you and your wife have integrated woodworking into your relationship. Maybe you do the physical labor, and she runs the business side.

Do you see how we expanded the scope of each of these channels? Heck, you could start an empire by tying all aspects of these niches under the umbrella of woodworking. You can do the same with gardening, farming, motorcycle riding, rebuilding cars, etc. The amount of channels that you can create is limitless.

The world works like this. You do something mildly well. For example, playing basketball, having a military career, teaching third grade, etc. Then you become rich by helping others achieve their goal in your specific area. Just think that the world has no mentors left. Mentorship is dead. You will no longer have people in your life that will assist in your job and home life.

Become a Content Creator in 2021

Yes, you will have parents and a support network (hopefully). But as far as someone who has direct knowledge of the area of expertise you are interested in, that is few and far between. Many people would like to start woodworking. There are even more people who would love to make supplemental income woodworking.

Let’s take me as an example. I first learned that royalty income was something I need to seek out. I read this in the Rich Dad series starting with “Rich Dad Poor Dad.” Based on the book, I started a blog. Blogging is hard because you have to create your content around keywords. You need to create content that “other” people want to read, not necessarily what you want to say.

Robert Kiyosaki said that he continues to get royalties from his books. Completely passive income. I decided to combine ten of my articles and create Financial Independence Magazine #1. The first month I made about $3 of royalty income, which is not bad. I am currently in month two of my experiment, and I have already cleared $20.

I have learned so much about writing, advertising, creating quality content, Amazon Kindle, and more. Not only do I have something to say about financial independence, but I also have a completely different story about creating a Kindle magazine

5 Creative Ideas to Earn Money in Your Sleep

I have not even tapped into my 22-year military career. Every year, a massive group of teenagers becomes eligible to join the military. They are lost and don’t have anyone to trust about the transition. All they have is their recruiter and an old veteran down the street. They need someone out there to listen to their needs. On a separate note, my wife and I have 15 years of marriage that we can tap into as well.

There is so much content to create. The most important part is starting. Once you start, your path will present itself for you. Your approach will be different than anyone else’s. But getting back to our three niches; wealth, health, and relationships- let’s brainstorm some sub-niches. These will be generic, and you can layer a vocation or hobby on top of them.

Wealth– Passive income, job transition, work from home, climbing the corporate ladder, military, retirement, cash flow, multiple sources of income, side hustles, telework from overseas, online side hustle, start a small business, entrepreneurship, and more.

Health– building muscle, fitness, muscle competition, marathon, quick workouts, dance workouts, running, cardio, fitness groups, gym workouts, marriage fitness, kids fitness, work from home fitness, dieting, and more.

Automate Your New Business

Relationship– Couples, young marriage, old marriage, dating over 40, singles, relationship with kids, relationship with parents, relationship with friends, retirement relationships, travel and relationships, date nights, gifts to buy, and more.

These ideas took about one minute for me to generate. The list is endless. I said it before in “How to Create a Never-Ending Stream of Content,” once you have your top-level niche, you want to sub-divide it into five sub-niches.

Then all you have to do is cycle content through your five sub-niches. You must research to stay ahead of your audience. However, the result will be a continual fresh stream of content for you to create and for your channel to consume.

I believe that content creation will be mandatory for any entrepreneur moving forward. No longer will you be able to open a store, online or brick-and-mortar, without creating content that adds value to the lives of others. I am going to keep beating this drum until the end. Now that I am out there creating content, I know how valuable it is. It is life-changing. To go to work and come home and see fresh money produced for you is an experience like no other.

8 Reason to Start a Micro-Business

Your homework assignment is to find which of the three niches interests you the most. Don’t get to wrapped around what content you will create. If multiple genres hold your attention, it is possible to integrate everything into your channel. It just has to be typed into an over-arching narrative. For example, if you and your spouse want to create a couple’s brand, you would have to pick appropriate sub-niches. Those niches could be staying in love, couple’s health, building family wealth, couple’s retirement, and raising a family.

You may not build a massive audience with such a diverse niche pool, but you do not need a huge audience. Read “Superfans” for more on how to make a small, rabid group of fans. If you follow the Retirement 4-50 plan, then the income from content creation will only be a portion of your retirement cash flow plan.

Go ahead and take some time to generate your niche and sub-niches. Just getting started is the hardest part. As long as you are putting forth the effort, you will be surprised at how fast success and knowledge compound. I look forward to hearing from you and maybe brainstorming ideas together.
