Renting a room is one of the easiest ways to generate income on your quest for financial independence. However, you need to take it very seriously. It is a business. The way you present yourself and your room is going to attract that same quality of applicants. If you have a dirty, smelly room you WILL attract a dirty, smelly person. If you have an organized, clean room hopefully you will attract the same. Here are some tips to help you ensure your room is highly competitive in the market. Also, ensure your house is of the same quality as the room. I have included some of the pics of the rooms Kris designed for the rental market.
Simple- Ensure the setup is clean and elegant. Don’t add to much.
Furnished- Trust me you do not want people bringing in their own furniture.
Colorful- You will attract a high-quality person with a colorful setting. Ensure sunlight is showing in the photo. You can always add colorful bedding for a bigger splash.
Fancy touches- Add a few elegant touches to the room. End tables or lamps. Make it welcoming.
Pictures are better than words, remember it is all about presentation and hospitality:
